I just took your fabric basket online course and l feel l have found what l have been searching for all my life! I tried braided rugs and rug hooking and a few other methods of weaving but this is where my heart sings! Thankyou for your affordable Class that was clear and very informative. Tammy

I've just watched your segment in Studio 10. That was brilliant. You did so well and thank you for starting me on my journey of making baskets out of fabric. I like to recycle fabric that would otherwise go to landfill. Ive made 11 so far.

I really love these online workshops. I live in a small country town so there is no opportunity to attend craft classes. The information is in chapters, very easy to watch and learn from, and I can revisit it as many times as I need to.

I’ve attended an in-person workshop with Ruth from Craft School Oz and also used four of the online workshops that she offers - all have been fantastic. Ruth is a great teacher. I highly recommend Craft School Oz to anyone wanting to learn some new crafting skills.

Making fabric baskets has given me so very much this year. Although 2020 has been devastating, crafting has enabled me to deeply appreciate being at home - a real gift. I’ve turned my heap of cloth scraps into beautiful containers I now use in every room. They are also perfect for delivering gifts.

Ruth Woods

Ruth has always been a crafter - and one that loves to pass on her love for creating. She trained as a clothing designer in the UK, working with textiles and fashion warehouses. When she came to Australia she graduated from Box Hill TAFE with a Diploma of Visual Arts and then completed a Bachelor of Adult Learning and Development at Monash University.

Ruth has taught art and crafts at a tertiary level and also through community education programs, some in very remote areas. She strongly believes in the need to facilitate opportunities for creative workshops in rural and regional communities. She knows first hand that people in these areas often don't often get the chance to participate in events like these, and being able to explore creativity in a supportive, safe space is an essential part of life.

Her interest in teaching, craft, and supporting regional areas became the perfect foundation for what is now this wonderful crafty community. And now bringing online workshops means everyone can access what she teaches.
